What is Open Access Colonoscopy?
The Open Access Colonoscopy Program was developed by Charlotte Gastroenterology & Hepatology to make this important screening procedure more accessible. Open Access is designed to allow healthy patients over age 50 without significant gastrointestinal symptoms eliminate a preliminary office visit before scheduling a colonoscopy. Patients fill out a questionnaire, which is then reviewed by staff to determine if they qualify for the program. We believe Open Access to be safe and appropriate for the right patients, and most important, it saves lives.
