Each year, Charlotte Gastroenterology & Hepatology is a premier sponsor for the Get Your Rear in Gear untimed walk or run held in Charlotte. We are extremely proud we have had significant support from our staff each year. All profits through GYRIG are used in our local community to further advance and push through the adversity of colon cancer, specifically in Charlotte. The funds raised provide patient support by reducing the financial burden of colorectal cancer for patients, removing barriers for underinsured people, education/awareness for colorectal cancer, and research to help fight and end colorectal cancer. Endoscopic Ultrasound

Endoscopic ultrasound is a minimally invasive procedure that combines endoscopy and ultrasound to produce highly detailed images of the lining and walls of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. These sound wave-produced images are used to determine the cause of symptoms of abdominal pain, or to diagnose or determine the spread of certain types of cancer. Radiofrequency Ablation for Barrett's Esophagus

Radiofrequency ablation is a treatment used for Barrett's esophagus which uses radio waves to kill precancerous and cancerous cells in the Barrett’s tissue.
