Charlotte Gastroenterology & Hepatology is a Leader Partner in CCFA’s 2013 Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis fundraising event. Join us at the nation’s only walk dedicated to finding a cure for digestive diseases. Charlotte’s walk will take place at Freedom Park on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Registration opens at 3:00 PM; the walk starts at 4:00 PM.

Endoscopy

Endoscopic Ultrasound

Endoscopic ultrasound is a minimally invasive procedure that combines endoscopy and ultrasound to produce highly detailed images of the lining and walls of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. These sound wave-produced images are used to determine the cause of symptoms of abdominal pain, or to diagnose or determine the spread of certain types of cancer. Radiofrequency ablation is a treatment used for Barrett's esophagus which uses radio waves to kill precancerous and cancerous cells in the Barrett’s tissue.
